Injury Management
Rehabilitation after injury requires individual assessment and a programme put in place in order to aid a speedy recovery. As an example treatment of a ham-string injury not only benefits from appropriate massage of the problem area but an exercise to stretch and strengthen the ham-string to the point where flexibility is equal to both the injured and non injured side. Each injury would be treated as appropriate.
Alternative Personal Training
Alternative training methods may be needed in order for clients to maintain aerobic fitness or flexibility which may include water therapy in a swimming pool. It is important that an athlete, even when injured maintains a level of fitness adequate for their sport.
Whilst the injury is healing, progression to normal training will need to be assessed by strengthening the problem area until normal training can resume. Additionally, risk of further injury would then need to be assessed and a programme put in place to prevent further occurrences and stability of the problem area.
Sport Massage Services cover Bromley, Orpington, South East London and local Kent areas.
