Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is recommended for those who experience consistent pain or are involved with extreme physical activity. Deep tissue massage provides relief to severe muscle tension and tension of the connective tissue (fascia).
Massage is concentrated on the deeper muscles with slower movement and stronger pressure, especially in the areas where you are tense or in pain. The use of knuckles, whole hands and elbows is often necessary to reach the deep tissue areas. You would occasionally be requested to breathe deeply whilst manipulating problem areas. It is designed to relieve rigid tissue which blocks circulation thereby limiting movement and causing pain.
Deep tissue massage can be uncomfortable and it is important to inform when the massage becomes too painful. There may be some discomfort post massage as well as stiffness and ice packs may be applied to the area if necessary.
As toxins are released from the muscles, it is important that plenty of water is consumed after a deep tissue massage to help eliminate them from the body. After the massage, you should also experience additional mucas excretions as your body is trying to expel the toxins.
Although there is less emphasis on pleasure with a deep tissue massage, the benefits are much longer lasting and you would experience increased levels of relaxation and alleviation of pain. You will be assessed if a deep tissue massage is appropriate for you on consultation.
Deep Tissue Massage Services cover Bromley, Orpington, South East London and local Kent areas.
